The Miraculous Magical Balloon
The “The Miraculous Magical Balloon” is a comedic performance first created and performed over 40 years ago in the Republic of Georgia. Since then, it has traveled all around the world and has been touring DC, Maryland and Virginia for the past 20 years. The show is a wordless production, breaking language barriers, about a person and a magical box where props, including what seems like an ordinary balloon, come alive through impressive and hilarious scenes of mime, clowning and acrobatics. There is a surprise character, a doll, who emerges from the box and unbeknownst to the person, comes alive through a beautiful ballet-slapstick dance. Once the two characters meet, the hilarity ramps up as they tell a story of discovery and bonding culminating with friendship, brought together by the the miraculous magical balloon. There is much audience interaction through-out the performance, and depending on the venue audiences may be asked on stage to participate.

The workshop and/or residency will teach students of Synetic’s unique techniques and approach to art. Packed with lessons that reach beyond the stage and performance, into life lessons through lens of choice with our Body, Emotion, Imagination and Focus. Through the foundations of Synetic techniques the students will learn how to tell stories and create dialogue without verbally saying a single word.
Grade Level: K–12
Fee: $750 single, $700 each for multiple shows (mileage fees may apply). Performance can be paired with a residency or a workshop.
