Spectacular Science: Fire & Ice
This spectacular show thrills audiences with impressive science experiments. The event includes foggy dry ice clouds and the chemistry of fire! Learn all about the science of magic, including a disappearing water trick and fun with air pressure. This is one of our most popular shows, covering a wide variety of science topics, and excellent for audiences of any age range.
Grade Level: K-5

Things That Go Boom
One of our most popular shows, themed all around learning about chemical reactions. Learn the four signs of a chemical reaction through foaming and color changing experiments, balloon inflation, and, of course, some explosions! Conclude with our Mad Science Bubbling potions, where the kids will get to learn about dry ice and see the creation of real clouds!

Up, Up & Away
This spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure. Children see an incredible exothermic reaction take place, witness the power of vacuums, and experience the four forces of flight. They’ll even get the chance to watch a hovercraft in action!

Marvels of Motion
In this high energy event, children see Newton’s three laws of motion in action. They try exciting experiments, witness forces in action, and see how the power of physics can manifest in seemingly magical ways. This show is entertaining for the whole school, but the concepts are best suited to 2nd graders or higher. An excellent choice for a school-wide assembly or for individual grade levels looking to better instill motion and/or force-related curriculum concepts.

Battle Cry of Freedom: Civil War to Civil Rights
Songs that teach about the history of Civi Rights giong to back to the abolition movement, AND engage students, with singable choruses, and use of ASL and meaningful gestures to engage physical participation. The program draws connections between the songs used in the movement to abolish slavery and the Underground Railroad of the 1850s, and the songs sung a hundred years later in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. (45 minutes or as needed)

Heroes With and Without Capes
My multidisciplinary presentation (adjustable for any age) is a jaw-dropping epic revealing secrets uncovered and mysteries solved while researching my nonfiction books on the creators of Superman and Batman – riveting even for those who couldn’t care less about superheroes. The interactive stories emphasizes persistence, challenging injustice, and sticking up for oneself and others. My approach motivates even the most reluctant students to read and embrace the adventure of research. It includes an irresistible analogy that teachers regularly incorporate into their classroom lessons. The presentation culminates in not one but three big twists that show how, despite the odds, children’s literature – and any one person – can change the world. It has elicited raves (and sometimes tears) from students and teachers worldwide. Part educational, part inspirational, all entertaining.

Clara Barton – Red Cross Angel

Rosalie Calvert and the War of 1812
Maryland’s being INVADED! Rosalie Calvert of Riversdale Plantation takes you on a breathless journey through the Battle of Bladensburg, the burning of the White House, and the creation of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Students discover the drama of life during the War of 1812 by choosing sides-British vs. Americans. They also explore the interesting day-to-day details of running a plantation in Maryland. And which lucky audience member will be chosen to be President and Dolley Madison?

Soul of Langston
Soul of Langston is a one-man stage play about American poet, playwright and Civil-Rights activist Langston Hughes. In his study room, Langston recounts the events that constructed his life—going from “busboy and poet” to becoming Harlem’s Wonder, helping establish the Civil-Rights movement through the Harlem Renaissance.

Through Fish Eyes
This unique performance utilizes dynamic classical Indian dance styles to spark students’ interest in what lies beneath the ocean’s surface. Prakriti Dance shares the wonders of marine life through the language of dance and illuminates the ways in which humans are affecting the world’s oceans. Students will be inspired by the beauty of nature and empowered to make small changes to help the environment. May be scheduled as a solo performance (one dancer) or duo performance (two dancers). May also be scheduled as a workshop or residency theme.

Introduction to Classical Indian Dance Workshop
Using a combination of dance movements and rhythms based on classical Indian dance styles, students explore the traditions, music, and stories of South India and how they have shaped the classical performing arts. Students learn traditional dance steps and experience the dance style’s intricate rhythms and hand gestures. This workshop engages all students as they journey into this ancient dance style from India.
